When Mikaela Kadono moves to a creepy old house in an unfamiliar town, the last thing on her

Mikaela
The story begins with Mikaela moving to the city of Good Harbor. She’s unhappy about it, it’s not the first move she’s made in her life, and this one leaves her far from her friends.
Jorge
We meet him as George at the beginning of the story and learn a little bit about his background. For instance, his given name is Jorge, but that he decided to go by the English version of that name, George.
Kendall
We see Kendall’s confidence and skill when she has to not only out fly Malcolm to rescue herself and fellow Legends, but also navigate through nearly impossible obstacles.
Collin
Collin has also faced insecurity in his life. He came as a surprise to his parents when they were very young. Early on, it was apparent that Collin differed from a lot of babies. He was very sensitive, seemed often agitated and didn’t connect well with others.
Thomas
When we meet Thomas, he’s the classic school bully; big, strong, and merciless. Over time, we learn that there may be more to Thomas than we think. And, that like most bullies, he wasn’t born a tormentor, he learned it.
Other Characters
Jaswinder Singh
Jazz is a 2nd generation American Sikh. Although he follows Sikh customs; not cutting his hair, covering it with a turban, and wearing a beard, he’s always seen himself as an American.
Gimbal
Gimbal’s backstory is the epilogue, but the backstory of the most important of their three personas, Kamaehu, isn’t reflected in the book. This backstory is, of course, from our future.
